Keas Information Evening

Keas will not start at the beginning of Term 1 this year.

Due to the recent transfer of one of our Kea leaders for work, and the work committments of our Kea Section Leader we currently have insufficient leaders to run our Keas Club properly.

We will hold an information evening for parents/ caregivers of 6 to 7 year old boys and girls who would like to form a Kea Club within the Whenuapai Air Scout Group on Wednesday 22 February 6-7pm at the Scout Den.

We plan to advertise through the local community to attract new members and recruit new leaders who can then start running the Kea section under our guidance.  If a sufficient number of parents do not sign on as leaders, we will reluctantly need to close the Kea section until there is sufficient interest.

The information evening will include a presentation from our Group Leader about Scouting and our Group, and information about the need we have for leaders and other volunteers.

Leaders receive good training and support from the Scouts organisation at the local, regional and national levels with some training able to be credited towards vocational qualifications.

We will have some outdoor games and activities for Kea-aged children arranged by our older youth members weather permitting.
